Title 30 › Chapter 2— MINERAL LANDS AND REGULATIONS IN GENERAL › § 27
If you dig a tunnel to reach or find a vein, you get the right to any vein found inside the tunnel along its line for up to 3,000 feet from the end of the tunnel, treated the same as if found from the surface. If others try to claim veins on that same line that aren’t visible above ground after the tunnel starts, their claims aren’t valid while the tunnel is being worked; if work stops for six months, the tunnel owner's rights to undiscovered veins on that line end.
