Title 30 › Chapter 7— LEASE OF MINERAL DEPOSITS WITHIN ACQUIRED LANDS › § 356
When the Secretary asks, heads of executive agencies that control the lands named in section 351 must give the Secretary the legal descriptions and any abstracts, title papers, or other documents they have about U.S. ownership of mineral deposits on those lands. The Secretary will record them in the Bureau of Land Management for safekeeping and use, then return the originals. Agencies may instead send officially certified copies.
