Title 30 › Chapter 7— LEASE OF MINERAL DEPOSITS WITHIN ACQUIRED LANDS › § 358
Leases acquired before August 7, 1947 keep the rights they had under the law in effect when they were obtained. Applicants who on that date had pending oil-and-gas lease filings for land not then in a known producing field get priority without competitive bidding. Those leaseholders may exchange their old leases for new ones before they expire.
