Title 30 › Chapter 2— MINERAL LANDS AND REGULATIONS IN GENERAL › § 40
You can swear the required statements under the listed parts of this title and section 661 of title 43 before any local official who can give oaths in the land district where the claim is. If that official certifies the testimony or evidence, it counts the same as if taken before the land register. If there is a dispute about whether land is mineral or agricultural, the other party must get at least 10 days' personal notice. If that person can't be found, publish notice once a week for 30 days in the nearest newspaper the register names, and the register must have proof the notice was given.
