Title 30 › Chapter 14— ANTHRACITE MINE DRAINAGE AND FLOOD CONTROL › § 571
Control and drainage of water in anthracite coal formations must be done to save fuel, protect public health and safety, and strengthen national security. Large amounts of water in these coal beds waste fuel and create dangers to people and property. Abandoned coal mines should be sealed and voids filled when doing so protects public health or safety.
