Title 30 › Chapter 1— UNITED STATES BUREAU OF MINES › § 6
When doing investigations allowed under this title, the director and any member of the U.S. Bureau of Mines must not have a personal or private interest in a mine or its products, take private jobs to examine mines or mineral land, or write reports about a private mine’s value or management. The Bureau may, however, temporarily hire outside engineers or experts for consulting or special investigations and pay them up to $10 per day.
