Control dust made by drilling rock. Use approved dust collectors, water (with or without a wetting agent), ventilation, or another method the Secretary approves that works at least as well. Give people who are briefly exposed to breathing hazards like gas, dust, fumes, or mist respiratory equipment approved by the Secretary and the Secretary of Health and Human Services. If exposure lasts a long time, take other steps to protect people or to reduce the hazard.
