Title 33 › Chapter 26— WATER POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL › Subchapter I— RESEARCH AND RELATED PROGRAMS › § 1263a
The EPA can give money to the State of Alaska to help rural and Native villages pay 75% of the cost to build or improve public water and wastewater systems and to pay for training, technical help, and education to run and manage those services. Alaska can spend up to 4% of each grant for its own administrative costs. The EPA must work with Alaska to set priorities so villages with the greatest need and worst health and sanitation get help first. The law authorizes these amounts: $40,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2022 through 2024; $50,000,000 for fiscal year 2025; and $60,000,000 for fiscal year 2026.
