Title 33 › Chapter 26— WATER POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL › Subchapter II— GRANTS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF TREATMENT WORKS › § 1291
Grants only pay to replace or do major repairs on existing sewage collection systems when that work is needed for a community’s waste treatment, or to build new systems in communities that have enough existing or planned treatment capacity and that meet section 1281. Population density can be used only to compare options and check effects on ground or surface water. No grants from funds authorized October 1, 1977, through September 30, 1990, may pay for treatment works that control discharges from separate storm sewer systems.
