Title 33 › Chapter 33— PREVENTION OF POLLUTION FROM SHIPS › § 1906
People in charge of a ship must report any incident with their ship the way Article 8 of the Convention requires and in the form set by rules the Secretary creates. This rule applies to masters or persons in charge of U.S.-registered ships or ships under U.S. authority anywhere, any other ship while it is in U.S. navigable waters, and seaports or oil-handling facilities under U.S. jurisdiction.
