Title 33 › Chapter 36— WATER RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT › Subchapter V— GENERAL PROVISIONS › § 2281d
Requires the Army Corps of Engineers to make the most of water projects to increase water supply, save water, and improve drought resilience. Under section 390b of title 43, the Corps must work with States and local groups to help develop water for homes, cities, industry, and other uses tied to building, maintaining, or running water projects. The Corps should also support non-Federal partners who want to add conservation or drought-resilience measures that fit a project's official purpose. The Secretary must fully consider requests from non-Federal partners to use Corps authorities for these goals. This policy does not change a State’s control over its water. It does not affect any water right or any written agreement that existed on January 4, 2025. It does not change the official purposes of projects, existing Corps authorities, state water laws or interstate compacts, or the Corps’ other priorities and missions.
