§27a Chicago River, West Fork of South Branch

Summary

Declares a section of the West Fork of the South Branch of the Chicago River in Cook County, Illinois, to be not navigable under U.S. law. The section runs from the west line (extended north) of the Sanitary District’s Collateral Channel in the northwest quarter of section 36 to a line 1,300 feet east of and parallel to the west line of section 30 (the South Western Avenue section line), all in township 39 north, range 13 east, third principal meridian, in Chicago, as it now exists or may later be extended. Congress keeps the right to change or repeal this.
