§4105 Reports on Unmanned Maritime Systems and Usage for Mission of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Summary

The Administrator must send Congress a report about how unmanned maritime systems are used for the Administration’s work. The first report is due not later than one year after December 21, 2018, and then every 4 years after that. Each report must list the unmanned maritime systems the Administration now uses, summarize the data they have returned and the benefits of that data, and give a ranked list of data needs that could be met by unmanned maritime systems plus the commercially available systems that can collect that data. The reports must go to these committees: Senate—Committee on Appropriations, Committee on Armed Services, Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation; House—Committee on Appropriations, Committee on Armed Services, Committee on Natural Resources, Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.
