The Secretary must dredge Federal channels and harbors in the Great Lakes and the channels that connect them whenever lake levels are, or are forecast to be, below the International Great Lakes Datum of 1985 so the waterways keep their original authorized depths. Great Lake means the five Great Lakes: Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron (including Lake St. Clair), Lake Erie, and Lake Ontario (including the St. Lawrence River to the 45th parallel of latitude).
