Title 33 › Chapter 11— BRIDGES OVER NAVIGABLE WATERS › Subchapter IV— INTERNATIONAL BRIDGES › § 535e
The person, company, or other entity given permission to build, operate, and maintain an international bridge may sell or transfer those rights. Any sale or transfer must be approved by the Secretary of the department that oversees the Coast Guard. If a State, or one of its subdivisions or agencies, buys the private owner’s rights to the bridge, any license, contract, or order the Secretary issued to the private owner ends immediately. The State will operate the bridge as if it had been the original applicant, and section 535d of this title will not apply.
