Part of the West River in West Haven and New Haven that lies north of a specific line is declared nonnavigable under U.S. law. The line runs N 85°54′43.5″ E from a point 1,158.535 feet from the most westerly corner of the existing bulkhead and pier line (Corps Harbor Line coords: north 4,616.76; west 9,450.80). That line is set as the combined pierhead and bulkhead line; earlier federal projects for that part are abandoned, and the right to change or repeal this section is reserved.
