Title 33 › Chapter 15— FLOOD CONTROL › § 701k
Money collected from any person or company to pay for property that was lost, stolen, or damaged, when that property was bought for river, harbor, or flood control work done under the Secretary of the Army and overseen by the Chief of Engineers, must be put back into the same government fund that paid to buy, fix, or replace the property. This applies to recoveries made in cash or by deducting the amount from money otherwise due to the person or company on or after June 20, 1938.
