§702a–7 Railroad and Highway Crossings Over Floodways

Summary

The United States must pay to build crossings: one railroad and one highway over the Eudora Floodway; up to three rail and two highway crossings over the Morganza Floodway; and up to one rail (with needed connections) and one highway crossing west of the Atchafalaya. These crossings require fair agreements with the railroad and highway authorities, the local agencies must agree to accept, operate, and keep them up at no cost to the United States, the railroads at Morganza and West Atchafalaya must waive any flood-damage claims against the Government, and other damage claims will be handled under the rest of the law.
