§10111 Consolidation of Financial Management Systems of Office of Justice Programs

Summary

The Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Justice Programs must move all of the Office’s accounting work under the Office of the Comptroller and all buying (procurement) work under the Office of Administration. They must do this while working with the Department of Justice Chief Information Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Starting on September 30, 2008, all procurement must go through a single management office and use one procurement system for contracts and purchase orders. Starting on September 30, 2010, all financial management (including human resources, payroll, accounting, and procurement) must use one financial management system. The Assistant Attorney General must follow a set schedule to make these changes. The work to meet the first rule must start within 90 days after January 5, 2006. The work for the 2008 and 2010 changes must start no later than September 30, 2006, and the Office of Administration will carry out those steps with help from the Chief Information Officer and the Office of Audit, Assessment, and Management.
