The Attorney General must make sure grant money is spread fairly among the States and between urban and rural areas across the country and within each State. Each year the Attorney General can give grants up to $100,000 to a State or local law enforcement agency or up to $250,000 to a law enforcement organization, and a grant can last no more than 5 years.
