Sets out simple meanings for words used in this part of the law. "Armor vest" means body armor that has passed the NIJ voluntary testing program and meets or beats NIJ Standard 0101.03 (or a later version) as at least Type I, or that meets NIJ Standard 0115.00 (or a later version). "Body armor" means any product sold as personal protective covering against gunfire, stabbing, or other harm. "State" means the 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands. "Unit of local government" means things like a county, city, town, township, village, parish, or borough. "Indian tribe" has the same meaning as in 25 U.S.C. 5304(e). "Law enforcement officer" means an officer, agent, or employee of a State, local government, or Indian tribe who is legally allowed to do or supervise preventing, finding, or investigating crimes, or to supervise sentenced offenders.
