The Director of the Bureau of Justice Assistance can give grants or make agreements with eligible groups to improve how white‑collar crime is found, investigated, and prosecuted. The funds pay for hands‑on training and technical help for police, investigators, auditors, and prosecutors in State and local governments. White‑collar crime here covers three types: (1) high‑tech crime (like cyber and electronic threats), (2) economic crime (like financial and mortgage fraud), and (3) Internet‑based crimes against children and child pornography.
