Summary

A scholarship recipient must sign an agreement with the Director that says they will work in a law enforcement job in the State that gave the scholarship after finishing courses for an associate, bachelor’s, or graduate degree. The agreement requires full repayment if the recipient breaks the terms, unless they die, become physically or emotionally disabled (confirmed by a sworn physician’s affidavit), or receive a bankruptcy discharge. It also explains how to seek work in another State. The work requirement is one month of law enforcement work for each credit hour funded, but at least 6 months and no more than 2 years.
