Defines key words used in this subchapter. Administrator is the agency head named under section 11111(b) of this title. Applicant is an agency that responds to child abuse, such as child protective services, police, legal, medical, or mental health agencies. Census region is one of the four regions (Northeast, South, Midwest, West) as designated by the Bureau of the Census on November 4, 1992. Child abuse means physical or sexual abuse or neglect of a child, and includes human trafficking and producing child pornography. Multidisciplinary response to child abuse is a coordinated team approach by community agencies to meet the needs of child victims and their nonoffending family members. Nonoffending family member is a family member who is not accused or convicted of the abuse. Regional children’s advocacy program is the program set up under section 20303(a) of this title. State chapter is a membership group that provides training, technical help, coordination, grant management, oversight, and support to local children’s advocacy centers and multidisciplinary teams, and helps deliver evidence-informed services like counseling, forensic interviews, team coordination, and victim advocacy.
