A person who must register as a sex offender must give the registry official basic ID and contact details. That includes their name and any nicknames, Social Security number, home addresses, where they work or study, vehicle plate and description, planned travel outside the United States (dates, flights, carriers, destinations, purpose, and contact info), and any other details the Attorney General requires. The person must also keep this information up to date and follow the times and ways the Attorney General sets for reporting. The agency that keeps the registry must include a physical description, the exact law text that defines the crime, the person’s criminal history (dates of arrests and convictions, parole/probation or supervised release status, registration status, and any outstanding warrants), a current photo, fingerprints and palm prints, a DNA sample, and a copy of a valid driver’s license or ID card, plus any other information the Attorney General requires.
