The Attorney General must keep a national list at the FBI of every person who is required to register as a sex offender in any jurisdiction. That list is called the National Sex Offender Registry. The Attorney General must also make sure updated information about a sex offender is sent right away, by electronic means, to all jurisdictions that need the information.
