Title 34 › Subtitle Subtitle II— Protection of Children and Other Persons › Chapter 217— ELDER ABUSE PREVENTION AND PROSECUTION › Subchapter II— IMPROVED DATA COLLECTION AND FEDERAL COORDINATION › § 21722
Each year the Attorney General must gather and share information about elder abuse. The Attorney General will get data from federal law enforcement, federal prosecutors, and other agencies. A summary of that data and suggested ways to improve reporting will be posted on the Department of Justice website. The data must count investigations and list how many and what kinds of elder-abuse cases were filed in federal courts. For each filed case the report will say the district, the case name and number, what happened (and details of any scam), who the alleged perpetrators were, and how the case ended. The Secretary of Health and Human Services must also give yearly data from adult protective services. No personally identifiable information will be included.
