Summary

The Attorney General must work with the Health and Human Services Secretary and the Elder Justice Coordinating Council to make, collect, review, and share information and to give training and technical help to States and local governments. The help will support investigating, prosecuting, preventing, and reducing harm from elder abuse (physical, sexual, and emotional), exploitation (including financial abuse and scams), and neglect, and will help assess and treat the physical and emotional trauma suffered by elder victims.

The Attorney General, in consultation with the Secretary of Health and Human Services and in coordination with the Elder Justice Coordinating Council (established under section 1397k of title 42), shall create, compile, evaluate, and disseminate materials and information, and provide the necessary training and technical assistance, to assist States and units of local government in— (1)
(2)assessing, addressing, and mitigating the physical and psychological trauma to victims of elder abuse.
