Title 34 › Subtitle Subtitle III— Prevention of Particular Crimes › Chapter 303— PRISON RAPE ELIMINATION › § 30304
Create a national information center inside the National Institute of Corrections to give information and help to Federal, State, and local officials who prevent, investigate, and punish prison rape. The center must also run regular training and education programs for those officials. By September 30 each year, the Institute must send a report to Congress and the Secretary of Health and Human Services and make it available to the Director of the Bureau of Justice Statistics. The report must summarize the Department of Justice’s prison rape abatement work from the prior calendar year. Congress authorized $5,000,000 per year for fiscal years 2004 through 2010 to carry out these duties.
