The U.S. Attorney General can give grants to public agencies or nonprofit groups to run programs that help find missing adults. Grants can pay for locating help for police and families; a national linked database for adults who are endangered because of age, reduced mental ability, or unclear or suspicious disappearance; collecting statistics; family information and referrals; public alerts and victim support; and a national clearinghouse. The Attorney General can also make the rules needed to run these programs.
