The Attorney General must give grants to help use DNA testing to identify missing people and unidentified human remains. Any State or local government that gets these funds must submit the DNA profiles they collect to the FBI’s National Missing Persons DNA Database. Congress authorized $2,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2017 through 2021 for this purpose.
