Attorney General may give grants to States to study and improve data on parole or post‑incarceration supervision revocations for people who pose greatest risk to victims and community safety. Recipients must certify they will collect reliable data on number and type of violations, reasons, behavior causing revocation, and penalties, submit it to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, and follow the October 30, 1997 Federal Register notice for analysis.
