Summary

Sets a five-year wait before another review or full reinvestigation of a cold-case murder can be required, unless newly discovered, important evidence appears. If a review decides not to do a full reinvestigation, or if a full reinvestigation ends without identifying a suspect, no new review or reinvestigation is required for five years from that decision or end. An agency may keep investigating even if no designated person applied.
