Defines key words used for international industrial-design registration under the Hague system. "Treaty" means the Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement adopted at Geneva on July 2, 1999. "Regulations" with a capital R means the Common Regulations under that treaty; "regulations" lowercase means rules the Director makes under this title. "Designation" means a request to make an international registration apply in a country that is part of the treaty. "International Bureau" means the international organization that coordinates the treaty and its regulations. "Effective registration date" is the date the International Bureau gives an international registration. "International design application" means an application for an international registration. "International registration" means an international filing for an industrial design under the treaty. Any other words not defined here take the meanings given in the treaty and the Regulations.
