Creates a corporation whose goals are set in its founding papers. It must defend the U.S. Constitution while respecting American Indian Nations’ self-rule. It brings together and speaks for American Indian veterans who served in the U.S. military, no matter when they served. It works to improve veterans’ education, economic, social, physical, cultural, and healing needs. It helps veterans, their families, and survivors with federal and state agencies, supports nonpartisan research, and gives outreach and training where the Bureau of Indian Affairs lacks veteran services.
