Carry out patriotic, historical, and educational work to honor and remember the people who won American independence. This includes protecting important Revolutionary sites and monuments, supporting research and sharing the results, saving documents and relics (including soldiers’ service records), and promoting patriotic celebrations. Promote broad education as Washington urged so citizens of all ages grow in knowledge. Also protect and strengthen American freedom, encourage true patriotism and love of country, and help secure liberty for all people.
