Gives the corporation broad authority to run itself and carry out its mission. It can make and change its rules and symbols, choose officers and agents, sign contracts, accept gifts, buy, own, lease, mortgage, or sell property, borrow money and secure debts, set up state, regional, and local chapters, open offices, publish magazines or newspapers, sue and be sued, and take other actions needed to do its work. It also gets the same special privileges that other national veterans’ organizations received when Congress incorporated them.
