The board of governors runs the corporation. It must have at least 12 governors divided into three equal groups. One group is elected each year for a three-year term at the corporation’s annual meeting. Five governors are needed to do business, but selling property or leasing real estate for more than one year must be approved by a majority of the whole board. The board can make rules about elections, meetings, who may serve, membership, and how to manage property and business. It runs the corporation, fills board vacancies until the next annual election, and hires, sets pay for, and can fire doctors, agents, assistants, and attendants.
