Only people who served honorably in the Armed Forces qualify: foreign wars or expeditions recognized for campaign awards; service on the Korean peninsula or its waters for 30 consecutive days or 60 days total after June 30, 1949; or service in areas qualifying for hostile‑fire or imminent‑danger pay under sections 310 or 351, title 37.
