Provide volunteer help in war to sick and wounded members of the Armed Forces of the United States, following the Geneva conference of October 1863, the Red Cross or Geneva treaties of August 22, 1864, July 27, 1929, and August 12, 1949, and any similar treaties the United States joins. Carry out the duties a national society must under those agreements. Act as a channel for voluntary relief with military authorities and with other countries through the International Committee of the Red Cross. Run peacetime national and international relief to ease pestilence, famine, fire, floods, and other major disasters, work on prevention, and do other activities that fit these purposes.
