Before taking part in a corporation-run or supported activity, a person must sign a sworn statement saying they do not have a felony conviction, have not been convicted under section 922 of title 18, and are not in a group that supports violently overthrowing the U.S. government. The Director of Civilian Marksmanship can ask law enforcement to check those records and may bar anyone with a felony or a section 922 conviction. The Director can also restrict who joins to protect people’s safety, keep firearms and ammo secure, and make sure instruction is good.
