Make the Hostage and Wrongful Detainee flag the official symbol that shows the United States is committed to freeing citizens and lawful permanent residents held or wrongfully detained abroad. The flag must be flown at the U.S. Capitol, the White House, and the buildings with the Secretary of State’s and Secretary of Defense’s offices on certain days. Those days are March 9, June 14, July 4, any day someone who was held hostage or wrongfully detained abroad returns to the United States, and any day someone dies while being held. The flag must be placed so the public can see it. No employee can be forced to come to work only to put the flag up.
