Title 37 › CHAPTER 7 — ALLOWANCES OTHER THAN TRAVEL AND TRANSPORTATION ALLOWANCES › § 422
Cadets at the United States Military Academy, the United States Air Force Academy, and the Coast Guard Academy, and midshipmen at the United States Naval Academy must get the same allowances a Navy midshipman gets. They also get the travel and transportation pay set by section 452 when they travel under official orders. A Navy midshipman who does not receive Navy food rations will get the cash value of those rations for every day on active duty, including leave. The Secretary of the Navy sets the rules and rates for that cash payment. A cadet or midshipman appointed under section 2107 of title 10 gets the same travel allowances as academy cadets and midshipmen for initial travel to the school, travel while under orders, and travel when discharged. But no discharge travel pay is allowed if the person is discharged and stays at the same school to continue studies.
