Title 38 › Part II— GENERAL BENEFITS › Chapter 17— HOSPITAL, NURSING HOME, DOMICILIARY, AND MEDICAL CARE › Subchapter I— GENERAL › § 1705A
People getting hospital or medical care under this law must give the Secretary current info needed to identify any health-plan contract that covers them. That info can include the insurer’s name, the policyholder’s name if it’s someone else, the plan’s ID number, and the group code. The Secretary may take steps to collect this information but cannot refuse care only because someone didn’t provide it. The term "health-plan contract" has the meaning given in section 1725(h) of this title.
