Title 38 › Part II— GENERAL BENEFITS › Chapter 17— HOSPITAL, NURSING HOME, DOMICILIARY, AND MEDICAL CARE › Subchapter II— HOSPITAL, NURSING HOME, OR DOMICILIARY CARE AND MEDICAL TREATMENT › § 1720E
The Secretary can provide medical exams, hospital care, medical services, and nursing-home care for head or neck cancers that may be linked to nasopharyngeal radium irradiation received in active military, naval, air, or space service. Care normally needs service records showing the irradiation, but the Secretary may provide care without those records for veterans who were aviators before the end of the Korean conflict or who had submarine training in active Navy service before January 1, 1965.
