Title 38 › Part III— READJUSTMENT AND RELATED BENEFITS › Chapter 30— ALL-VOLUNTEER FORCE EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM › Subchapter II— BASIC EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE › § 3019
If someone gets an educational assistance allowance here, they can also get the same tutorial help that eligible veterans get, under the same rules. Tutorial pay can be up to $100 each month, for no more than 12 months, and no more than $1,200 total. That tutorial money is in addition to the regular educational allowance. Only the part of tutorial payments over $600 will count against how long the person can get educational assistance. For each sum over $600 that equals the person’s monthly full‑time educational allowance, one month of their benefit time will be used.
