The Secretary must send a yearly report to the House and Senate Committees on Veterans’ Affairs at the same time the President sends the next fiscal year budget under section 1105 of title 31. The report covers the Department’s work preparing for and taking part in a domestic medical response to an attack involving weapons of mass destruction. Each report must say how much money and how many full‑time equivalent employees are expected, were used last year, and are being used this year, say where the money comes from and how it was spent, and note any expected shortfalls. The reporting requirement expires on January 1, 2009.
