§6302 Biennial Plan

Summary

The Secretary must, during the first nine months of every odd-numbered year, prepare a plan for outreach that covers the two-fiscal-year period beginning on October 1 of that year. The plan must set out ways to find eligible veterans and dependents who are not enrolled or registered for benefits, and ways to tell eligible veterans and dependents about changes to benefits and services, including eligibility for medical and nursing care. In making the plan, the Secretary must consult with directors or officials of organizations approved under section 5902, State and local education and training program officials, representatives of nonprofit veterans outreach groups, State and local veterans employment organizations, and other people or groups the Secretary considers appropriate.
