Title 38 › Part V— BOARDS, ADMINISTRATIONS, AND SERVICES › Chapter 75— VISUAL IMPAIRMENT AND ORIENTATION AND MOBILITY PROFESSIONALS EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM › § 7503
The program pays an individual’s tuition and fees up to the amount the Secretary says is needed. If a student is working on a dual degree or certification in the two fields covered, the program will only pay for the minimum credit hours needed to earn both. The scholarship can top up other aid, but the total aid a student gets in a year cannot be more than that year’s tuition and fees. A full-time student can get no more than $15,000 for an academic year. Part-time help is reduced in the same proportion as the student’s course load compared with a full-time load. A student may not receive more than $45,000 in total, and aid can be given for no more than six academic years.
