Title 38 › Part V— BOARDS, ADMINISTRATIONS, AND SERVICES › Chapter 76— HEALTH PROFESSIONALS EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM › Subchapter VI— EMPLOYEE INCENTIVE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM › § 7673
Gives people in the Program a scholarship for a school year that pays tuition and other reasonable school costs, like fees, books, and lab expenses. For a full-time student, the scholarship cannot be more than $10,000 for one year of full-time coursework. A part-time student's award is smaller in the same ratio as their course load is to full-time. A scholarship can be paid for up to six school years, but no one can get more than the equivalent of three years of full-time coursework in total. The Secretary may arrange to pay the school directly and may do so without following subsections (a) and (b) of 31 U.S.C. 3324. Full-time is 30 semester hours per undergraduate year or 18 semester hours per graduate year.
